SEASON OF LENT
 
EASTER LILIES
Designate an Easter lily in honor of or in memory of a loved one for $15 per designation.  Order forms available in the Sunday, March 26 and April 2 bulletins.  Sunday, April 2 is the deadline for forms and payment.  Designations will be in the Easter Sunday, April 9 bulletin.
 
LABYRINTH LENTEN DISCIPLINE
Terry Candee will be present in the Memorial Garden at 6:00 PM on Wednesdays through Lent.  He is available to offer guidance about walking the labyrinth or simply to be present as you walk in silent meditation.
 
PALM/PASSION SUNDAY, APRIL 2
The Palm/Passion Sunday Worship Service at 11:00 AM will include a parade of palms, special music, and the observance of the PC (USA) One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.
 
MAUNDY THURSDAY, APRIL 6
The Maundy Thursday Worship Service at 6:00 PM will begin in Glenn Hall and later move to the Memorial Garden.  The service will include a simple, light snack and Communion.  A foot washing station will be available.  We ask that you bring a simple snack (bread, pita, crackers, hummus, grapes, dates, nuts, olives, cheese slices/blocks) to share.
 
EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 9
FLOWER CROSS
Please bring flowers from your garden to decorate the flower cross on Easter Sunday.
 
EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE AT 7:00 AM
Communion will be celebrated at the Easter Sunrise Service at 7:00 AM outside in the Memorial Garden.  Dress comfortably and bring your own lawn chairs.  In case of inclement weather, we will gather indoors.  Following the Sunrise Service, a light continental breakfast will be offered.

Will not meet on Easter Sunday, April 9.
 
EASTER SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE AT 11:00 AM
Celebrating the life and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with Communion and special music.
SESSION NOTES

At the Wednesday, March 15 meeting, the Session:
  • Approved the concluding of Sunday School and Children’s Church on May 21, 2023 and to not have Sunday School on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023.
  • Approved contracting Joe Boyle to preform a financial review of the church’s 2022 finances, as required by the Book of Order.
  • Approved changes in the Acceptiva system to give online donors the option to pay the processing fee for their donations to the church.
  • Approved communion for the Maundy Thursday Worship Service on April 6, 2023 at 7:00 PM in McGregor Hall and the Easter Sunrise Service on April 9 at 7:00 AM in the Memorial Garden.
  • The Property Committee reported that a plumber has been hired to repair the fire suppression system in the sanctuary.  After this is complete, the work on the dry wall repairs can begin after Easter.
  
PC (USA) ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING OFFERING
McGregor will observe the PC (USA) One Great Hour of Sharing Offering on Palm Sunday, April 2.  The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People - all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need.  From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.  Please give generously.

NEW MEMBERS BIO
Kelly Smith and Joice Gouw, Sonja and Carenza
Joice is originally from Southeast Asia, immigrated to the U.S. in 2001, and moved to Irmo in 2004.  Kelly was born and raised in Kansas and moved to Columbia in 2003.  They met in Systematic Theology class at Columbia International University.  Joice works for Woodland Hills Community Church as their secretary and English Language/refugee ministry coordinator.  Kelly works as the website coordinator in the marketing department of UCI Medical Associates.  Joice and Kelly have two lovely daughters; Sonja is in the 7th grade and Carenza is in the 5th grade.  The whole family enjoys reading, biking, swimming, bubble tea, Asian-style noodles, and pointing out absurdities in TV shows.

 
COMBINED YOUTH GROUP MEETING
Sunday, April 26, 5:30-7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Presbyterian
The youth will meet at Seven Oaks Presbyterian this Sunday for dinner, games, a lesson on Holy Week, and packing goodie baskets for homebound members.  Please bring an item to put in the basket (not candy!).  Let David Jenkins know if you plan to attend.

We are collecting small, individually wrapped Easter candy, packages of snack sandwich crackers (Lance, Keebler) and clean, doubled plastic grocery bags.  Please drop off your donations in the marked bin in the church lobby.

KEEP THE MIDLANDS BEAUTIFUL ANNUAL SHOE DRIVE
Through May 28
Recycle your new or almost new shoes through the Keep the Midlands Beautiful Annual Spring Shoe Fundraiser.  Simply drop off your new or almost new shoes in the marked bin in the church lobby through Sunday, May 28.  Funds raised from the Shoe Drive help KMB support their litter prevention programs and encourage recycling and reuse.  In addition, it keeps shoes out of the landfill.
