Homelessness Ends As Four Women Graduate

Sherri, Tara, Sarah and Marci are grateful for your help!

Your support changes the lives of men and women like these who recently graduated from a year of recovery in our residential New Life Ministry at Shepherd's Door.

SHERRI
Sherri's despair was replaced with a desire for light and for life. During a Wednesday worship service at Shepherd's Door, she sensed Jesus saying, with His arms outstretched on a cross, "Sherri, I did this for you. Give me all your pain, give me all your sins, give me your illness, give me your sadness."

TARA
After years of drug use, Tara's heart went emotionally numb, even to the pain she was masking. "I started to feel and act like I no longer had a heart. I couldn't even love," she says. "I feel like an anchor has been lifted off my chest, a weight I didn't even know was lifted off my heart. God is in the healing business."

SARAH
"The day I arrived here, I knew the second I walked in the door, my life would never be the same," says Sarah. "I spent 13 years addicted to drugs and all the destruction that comes with that. My whole life I had run on fear and trying to make other people happy, I have gotten to the core of what codependency really is, and allowed God to heal my life in this area."

MARCI

"I always thought I had to earn my love," said Marci. "God is not like that. He just gives it to you freely. And you don't have to deserve it. I've been so caught up in the clatter of my own ambition. I've been missing the precious moments that were right there in front of me. I just have to stop striving and listen."
