Farragut Invites Community to Sept. 16 Impact Fee Study Public Forum

The Town of Farragut will host an Impact Fee Study Public Forum on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Farragut Town Hall. The impact fee study is being led by Duncan Associates of Austin, Texas, in collaboration with The Corradino Group in Nashville.

Town of FarragutThe purpose of this project is to study existing and future traffic impact on our road system with the intent to develop an infrastructure fee-based formula for Farragut to use to require impact fees on future development within the Town. These fees will assist the Town with maintaining and/or improving the road system in accordance with our adopted road standards.

Public forum attendees will learn general impact fee information; specific information with regard to the Town’s study, philosophy and methodology behind the creation of an impact fee program; and implications for the Farragut community. The forum will conclude with a question and answer session with Duncan Associates and Town staff.

The Farragut Town Hall is located at 11408 Municipal Center Drive across from the Farragut Branch Post Office. For more information about this project, visit www.townoffarragut.org/impactfees or contact Assistant Town Manager Gary Palmer at gpalmer@townoffarragut.org.

Farragut Food Festival

A FEASTival of Food, Drink & Fun

With over 25 restaurants anticipated and a regional draw of more than 1,200 attendees, the Farragut Food Festival, presented by TDS returns to Renaissance | Farragut Friday, September 25th from 6:30-9:30pm. The event is hosted by the Farragut Business Alliance and Town of Farragut.

The goal of this regional festival is to showcase "best bite" samples from Farragut’s eateries, as well as to provide the opportunity to pair those bites with wines, beers and ready-to-drink cocktails (ID required) from Farragut’s wine distributors. “We know once guests try these delicious samples, they’ll visit the restaurants and businesses in Farragut at a later date to enjoy more,” said Allison Sousa, executive director of the Farragut Business Alliance.

The popular beer lounge, hosted by Mind Yer P’s and Q’s and The Casual Pint of Farragut, is again included in the general admission price. The exclusive “VIB,” or “Very Important Bites,” tent is also back and even better this year, due to a sponsorship from Event Rentals by Rothchild. The special VIB seating area will accommodate only 8 tables of 8 people each and will feature exclusive chef-prepared tastes from several of Farragut’s favorite restaurants. These tastes will be paired with specially selected wines appropriate for each. VIB ticket holders also have access to all General Admission food and beverage booths.

“We’re planning a couple of additional surprises for our VIB ticket holders this year,” said Sousa. “We think they’ll be even more thrilled with the experience than they were when we introduced the concept last year.” VIB tickets are $100 and limited to 64, so they’re available on a first-come, first-served basis on the FBA website.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults (if purchased in advance through noon the day of the event) or $30 if purchased at the gate. Admission for children under 10 is $10 in advance or $15 at the gate, with children under 5 free. The discounted advance tickets are on sale now at www.farragutbusiness.com, or can be purchased in person at the event’s platinum sponsor, SouthEast Bank (12700 Kingston Pike).

Additional sponsors (to date) include; Milestones Event Center (gold); Costco Wholesale (silver); and farragutpress, i105.3 WFIV, and WATE Channel 6 (media). Community sponsors include: Anytime Fitness, Dayton's Pest Control, Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce, Farragut Wine & Spirits, First Utility District, Junk Bee Gone, Lenoir City Utilities Board, Renaissance | Farragut/Myers Bros. Holdings, and The UPS Store (Farragut).
