Celebrating a New Way to Meet an Old Need

Hello and Thank You again for everything you do, have done and will hopefully continue to do for all of us here at One Spirit.

We are deeply grateful to Buche Foods and R.F. Buche for the active role he has taken in support of the Lakota at Pine Ridge and for the first time making available the so much needed household supplies. Access to toiletries and other household supplies has been a struggle for a long time. Can you imagine not having access to the kind of basic goods we often take for granted, such as toilet paper? These vouchers are so hugely important and pave the way for us to help provide for things that federally funded programs simply do not.

We are so excited to not just meet these needs but now we are able to add feminine care products, items overwhelmingly requested by the Lakota women.

Another huge plus to this bargain is that FREE bus service is available to Buche Foods from all over the Reservation.

Here is the list of household items from which they can choose.

dish soap (25 oz. $1.50),

toothpaste (6.4 oz. $1.50)

laundry detergent (75 oz. $4)

bathroom tissue (24 rolls $6)

shampoo (15 oz. $1.50

body wash (16 oz.$1.50)

deodorant (2-3 oz. $1.50

combs or toothbrushes $1.00

Feminine tampons - (Box of 14 for $1.50)

Feminine pads - box of 20 for $2.00)

All items are mix and match.

We want to take this opportunity to clarify that the household vouchers, which One Spirit can purchase for only twenty dollars each, are not included with the regular donations for the food boxes. We need to raise $20 per voucher to provide families and women with the supplies they need.

Below is the food menu for this month. We are again including meat that comes directly from the Lakota Charging Buffalo House. How happy can we get!?!
