February, we're screening LOVE BOAT: TAIWAN, a documentary by Valerie Soe. The film retraces the history of a government-sponsored program meant to send Taiwanese Americans to Taiwan to celebrate their roots and immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture. With interviews from those who went on the trip during their college years, they reminisce about the antics and lessons learned from the once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The film will be preceded by "Pozole," a short dark comedy about what it means to be Mexican American and vegetarian, and "Kwabena," an awe-inspiring short documentary about a family secret that uncovers a life-changing surprise.

The February event will be held at the Bright Family Screening Room, first on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. with a post-show conversation featuring Love Boat director Valerie Soe, and an encore presentation on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.
