Experience the magic of theater with us! BAAFF is joining Asian American Theater Artists of Boston to catch the musical Cambodian Rock Band on November 3. Ride with us, grab wine after the show, and meet the cast!

Revisit the past with Chinatown Rising! Directed by father-son duo, Harry and Josh Chuck, this documentary pieces together Harry Chuck's 16mm footage he captured during the Civil Rights Movement in San Francisco Chinatown. With over 10 hours of film, Harry and Josh Chuck put together a documentary aimed to capture a divided community searching for its own identity.

In 1978, a father flees Cambodia's Khmer Rouge regime. Thirty years later, his daughter attempts to piece together her family history. Cambodian Rock Band celebrates the resilient bond of family through hardship and sacrifice and the enduring power of 70s music.

Against the backdrop of the Civil Rights Movement of the mid-1960s, a young San Francisco Chinatown resident armed with a 16mm camera and leftover film scraps from a local TV station, turned his lens onto his community. Totaling more than 20,000 feet of film (10 hours), Harry Chuck's exquisite unreleased footage has captured a divided community's struggles for self-determination.
