Post-game Joe Paterno Candlelight Vigil and Flower Tribute

Coordinated by Private Individuals
Please join alumni, fans and friends immediately after the Homecoming game to honor Coach Paterno's legacy.  Folks are being asked to gather at the place where his statue stood until it was removed. There will be a candlelight vigil with a few memorial activities.  Please bring a battery-operated votive or tealight candle. These are available at any craft store - or pretty much anywhere that sells candles - and will fit in your pocket. Do not illuminate them until instructed to do so. Some additional candles will be available but it would be best to plan ahead. You are welcome to either wear tribute-type clothing or bring memorabilia or signage. The candles will be arranged for a special memorial before we leave, so they may burn through the night.  More information available through the event site

Alumni and fans are putting together a floral tribute at the statue site for homecoming, Saturday October 12th. Anyone interested in purchasing flowers for the tribute may call and place your order for the bouquet of one dozen carnations, half blue, half white, dressed with greenery, babies breath, tied with a bow...and personalized with a card with your own message. The price, includes delivery, for $25.00 per dozen. Anyone who chooses to order is asked to place orders from October 1st to October 9th. Call 814-886-0886. Store hours at Florals on Corner are Mon thru Sat 9am-4pm Thank you!
