The Greater Binghamton Chapter Penn State Alumni Association would like to extend immense gratitude to everyone who helped to make this year's Winter Dinner a success!  It was a wonderful evening from the food, to the trivia and raffles and, most importantly, the great members!  We are lucky to have a very fun and generous group.  We raised over $250 for our chapter scholarship!

Congratulations and thank you for many years of service to Lynne Beautz, founder of our chapter Alumni Admissions Committee and Carl Bugaiski, chapter charter member and past president. We were honored to have Liza, Isaah and Caroline Turner present to honor Lynne and share their Penn State memories with us. Thank you to Kara, Phill and John Bugaiski for writing heartfelt letters congratulating their father and Roger Williams for writing a letter to share his memories of Carl over the many volunteer years.

A very special thank you to our Social Committee for all of their hard work: Elizabeth Fabian, Lisa Kelly, Bob and Linda Malecki, Harolyn Pasquale, Carolyn Pierce, Michele Steinhauser and Kate Miller-Corcoran.

Thank you to all of the generous donors including Linda Vogel, PSU Alumna and owner of Valley Flower Shoppe, who contributed the gorgeous Penn State themed floral arrangements as well as those who contributed to our raffle.  Please consider patronizing these businesses to thank them for their support of our chapter scholarship fund!

Two of our local Penn State students were awarded the Ernest Manchester Memorial Scholarship by the Bradford County Conservation District.  Daniel Vogel (above second from left), son members of Linda and William Vogel, and Megan Romania (above second from right).  A total of four students were selected based on their academic area of study, as well as their records of accomplishments. Each recieved a $500 scholarship.

The Manchester Family set up the scholarship fund with Bradford County Conservation District as a memorial for Ernest Manchester who was a long time advocate and supporter of the conservation of Bradford County natural resources. A student must be pursuing a course of study related to environment or agriculture.

Dan is a junior at UP in the wildlife and fishery sciences and from the Sayre Pa area.  Megan is a junior at UP and is in the Community, environment and development. Graduated from Athens, but resides in Sayre.

We still have 4 tickets left for the  the March 15th Men's Ice Hockey game vs Ohio State. 3pm start time - Section 203 Contact ChapterInfoPennStateAlumniGBA@gmail.com if interested.

Alumni Admissions Council Chairperson

Harolyn (Harri) Kline Pasquale is the chairperson for Greater Binghamton Chapter’s Alumni Admissions Council.  She graduated in 1970 with a BA in Education and MEd in Counselor Ed Student Personnel Administration.  Recently retired from her position as Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Binghamton University she is now using her talents to persuade students in the Greater Binghamton Area to apply to Penn State.

Harri has many wonderful memories of her years at University Park.   The people she met and the experiences she had at Penn State impacted her life greatly.  In particular, there was one professor who is now retired that influenced her approach to counseling and advising students throughout her career and her interactions with others in all areas of life.  Harri also recalls the summer term she spent on campus during her master's program.  With fewer students and a slower pace of college life it allowed more time to interact with faculty and friends and enjoy the many opportunities the university offered.  As well, she fondly remembers campus walks in the fall and spring across Old Main lawn.  These walks allowed Harri time for reflection about being a part of the wonderful community at Penn State and all it offered her - both then and now.

Harri and her husband, Vince, reside in Endwell.  When they go back to visit State College they like to visit the Corner Room, Tavern Restaurant and the Skeller.   When faced with the challenge of what Creamery ice cream flavor to order she favors Butter Pecan.
