We have been approved to adopt an area on the eastern end 706 just outside of Montrose.  It starts beyond Tractor Supply and ends just past Ultracon. Thank you so much to Tom Charles, Crew Chief of the Pennsylvania portion of our Adopt-A-Highway team, for working to get that portion of highway for us.

If you are interested in participating on the Clean-Up teams in the NY or PA regions of our chapter please contact Kate Miller-Corcoran at
GBAPSUvicepresident@gmail.com.

Please consider donating a Penn State item, tickets for events both at University Park and around the chapter area, or a gift certificate or item from your business for our raffle baskets at the Winter Dinner.  The proceeds will be going directly to our chapter scholarship which is awarded annually to local students attending Penn State based on a number of criteria including GPA, financial aid and personal essay.

In return for your donation we will tell our local alumni just how generous you are through our newsletter, facebook page and website. Our reach is over 1,000 Penn State alumni, friends and fans!

Vice President

Kate Miller-Corcoran is currently the vice president of the Greater Binghamton Chapter.  She graduated in 2002 from the College of Liberal Arts with a degree in English Literature.  Kate currently lives on the Westside of Binghamton with her husband, Nick (A&A 2001) and daughter, Zoey (2032).  She owns and operates Magical Mama’s Cloth Diapering Service.

While a student at University Park, Kate could often be found either on the third floor of the library stacks writing English papers or at Zeno’s playing darts with Nick and their friends.  Kate still remembers walking home on West College Avenue one night and trading a box of left over pizza for a jacket made from an American flag.  Like most anyone who spent a summer in State College, the entire summer Kate lived there constitutes a best memory.

Taking her daughter to State College for the first time is her favorite memory as an alumna.  Zoey had such a good time tailgating and playing with the other future Penn Staters.  So much so that she fell sound asleep in her wagon while Kate and Nick pulled her around campus checking out all of the new buildings going up.

When back in State College Kate loves stopping by Irving’s for a bagel and coffee then walking up the mall through campus from Allen Street, past Old Main towards the library.  The elms will always be her favorite part of campus.  Ever a fan of Oreo cookies, when at Berkey Creamery Kate orders Cookies N Cream.

Great news!  Our representative in the admissions office reports that applications to Penn State are up 18% this year!

Acceptance letters are going out at the end of January so those participating in the AAC should get notification to contact accepted students by the beginning of February.

There are still schools in outlying areas that need representation from our alumni. Volunteers from both New York and Pennsylvania are needed.

If you are interested in representing Penn State at your local high school please contact Harolyn Pasquale at GBAPSUaac@gmail.com.
