Michele Steinhauser is the current president of the Greater Binghamton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association.  She is a 1989 graduate from the college of Human Development with a major in Nursing.  While at Penn State Michele was part of the Student Health Advisory (1985-87), a member of the first Lion Ambassador group on the McKeesport Campus, a member of the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania (1987-89), and the Nursing class senior speaker (Spring 1989).

Currently Michele lives in Endwell with her husband, Kurt, and her two daughters, Sylvia and Sara.  She is a faculty member at the Binghamton University Decker School of Nursing.

One of her favorite memories from her time at University Park in the late 80s is going out with friends on an icy Saturday evening.  They crawled across Beaver Ave to get to the Park Hill Apartments because she and her friends were afraid they would fall in their skirts and heels. She also frequented the Shandygaff.

Now she enjoys going back to campus to mentor current nursing students.  Michele and her family enjoy having shakes at Baby’s or eating at the Corner Room when they are back in State College.  Michele’s favorite place on the University Park campus is the stadium lots while tailgating on football Saturdays.   Although she admits that being anywhere on or off campus is always a good time.

After sampling many of the Berkey Creamery Ice Cream flavors this past summer Michele remains a steadfast fan of Peanut Butter Swirl.

We would like to welcome Heidit Trecoske, Andrea Hlebica, Megan Morris as new members of our chapter!  Thank you to everyone who keeps their membership current.  Your membership dues help us to put on interesting events, promote our Alma mater to local students and support our beloved Penn State University and current students through organizations such as THON.

October Membership Incentive!! All current annual and lifetime members will receive a chance for PSU chipbowl.  Anyone who joins as a new member will receive 5 chances for this drawing.  Winner will be selected at the November 9th viewing party at The RailHouse!  Congrats to MIke Evans who won the September incentive, a Penn State Birdhouse!!

Remember our membership costs are the LOWEST in the country!  Cost is $8 for an annual individual membership, $10 for an annual family membership.

Join or renew your membership here today!!

The Broome Tioga college fair was held on Wednesday, October 15, at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.  AAC Chairperson Harolyn Pasquale and Lynn Beautz represented Penn State University along side Chris Lewis from the Worthington-Scranton Campus.  It was a wonderful chance to reach out to local high school students and make them aware of Penn State's academic excellence.
If you are interested in representing Penn State at your local high school please contact Harolyn Pasquale at
