Red and green are traditional colors of Christmas. Screaming red is the highlight for Chinese New Year. Pure white for weddings. Pink in Valentine. Throughout history, men have assigned meaning to colors. Regardless of culture, we are soaked in color symbolism.
 
In branding, 3M and Coke Cola logos are in red.  Blue is used by HP, Facebook, Ford and General Electric. Many multinational companies spent millions of dollars to develop iconic logos and colors. And colors have specific effect on human psychology and can make an important and lasting impression on potential customers. And color influence consumer buying decision.

This is why many successful companies invest heavily in color research and manufacturing to ensure that consumer buys their brands.
