Our concert last Saturday with bluegrass superstars Rob Ickes, Trey Hensley, and Mike Bub was a resounding success! As usual, our own Fred Robbins captured some great photos of the show. HVBA Interview with Mile Twelve!

Mile Twelve is one of the leading groups in the new wave of young, progressive bluegrass bands. They swung through the Hudson Valley last week to play at Beacon's Towne Crier in support of their new album, City on a Hill. They also had a chance to sit down with HVBA's Mike Foley and Lynn Lipton for a wonderful interview that you can read here. And be sure to check out Mile Twelve's website to purchase their new record!

HVBA's Bluegrass Courses are ongoing at Vassar LLI!

HVBA is excited to offer classes through Vassar College's Lifelong Learning Institute! This spring, six classes hosted by world-class Hudson Valley bluegrass musicians will teach about the history, the instruments, and the players that make the genre.
Our classes have so far featured Tara Linhardt on mandolin, Keith Edwards on guitar, and Ambrose Verdibello on fiddle. This week, banjo player and bluegrass historian extraordinaire Dick Bowden discusses and plays his instrument!
