With striking three-part harmonies and masterful instrumentation, the members of Bill and the Belles breathe new life into the sounds of early country music. From Johnson City, Tennessee, Bill and the Belles mine the deep musical traditions of the foothills region of the Blue Ridge. From fiddle breakdowns and Southern ballads to the pop songs of Tin Pan Alley, a Bill and the Belles show celebrates the deep roots of old time country music.

“A great festival full of tremendous music and talent. I have a feeling this is what Fincastle felt like in ’65. Not the types of music, but the raw, down to earth feel… a damn good time”
-C.J. Lewandowski (The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys)

“Oldtone Roots Music Festival has that perfect buzz, the feeling you get when you know you are part of something great. It has that small time country feel where you can get an intimate experience with real roots music.”
Reeb Willms (Foghorn Stringband)

CD Review by Ambrose Verdibello

Back in May, Joe Walsh played for the HVBA at the Unitarian Fellowship. Bobby Britt was the fiddler that evening and his CD, Alaya, has now been reviewed by Ambrose Verdibello. We all know Ambrose to be one of the very best fiddlers and now we know him to be one of the very best writers. Enjoy!!!
