Our thoughts are with you and your loved ones during these challenging times. As a shul, our primary function is to be a makom tefillah (place of prayer). There are many people - some adjacent to our community - that are ill and suffering. We ask that you keep them in your davening.
In spite, or perhaps because of, our physical distance, we would like to do our utmost to maintain a strong sense of community. As a community of prayer, we are holding virtual tefillot
(prayer services) on a regular basis, and have commenced an effort to say the sefer tehillim
collectively each week. For those saying kaddish, we will follow the psak
of Rav Eliezer Melamed, who has permitted [and encouraged] mourners to say kaddish as part of a live zoom minyan.
As a community, we are here for mutual support. Please reach out to the Board@prospectheightsshul.com or RabbiLeener@prospectheightsshul.org if we can be of any help - whether it’s errands for those in quarantine, medical or public health networking, or emotional support to those amongst us feeling isolated. Similarly, if you learn of COVID-19 diagnoses that touch our community, please email the Board or Rabbi Leener so that we can discreetly take any necessary notification steps.
To support these efforts, we have created and reinvigorated a number of WhatsApp groups. Please see below
for the full list of groups and how to join.
If you have not already, please follow us on Facebook! We will be posting a weekly virtual schedule of our programming, which will include volunteer opportunities, virtual davening, classes, hangouts. And we will continue to share information via regular PHS emails. As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Pastoral Zoom Sessions
Rabbi Leener is committed to bringing a dose of Torah, connection, and pastoral assistance to the PHS community as we grapple with the uncertainty of what lies ahead, and as we physically distance ourselves from large gatherings. You do not need to be alone in this. All you need to do is virtually show up. Please reserve a time here.
Rabbinic Discretionary Fund for COVID-19
As you know, these times are causing extreme financial hardships. As a way to support our direct and larger community Rabbi Leener is asking for additional donations to distribute to people in great need as a result of the virus. The money will be going directly to these individuals. Please donate here, and specify that the gift is being made for relief funds. Tizku Lamitzvot!

As we work together to adjust to the significant changes to our daily lives caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, we are looking ahead to a Pesach holiday that will be affected by these changes in ways that we are still trying to fully understand. We will provide more information regarding Pesach activities in the coming days.
For now, we want to share the link to sell your chametz and to the OU's annual guide to Passover.
