The Prospect Heights Shul is seeking a part-time Administrator to help facilitate its regular operations. Administrator will work directly with the VP Operations and VP Communications, and will be responsible for several standing tasks and some ad-hoc tasks, to be communicated by the members of the Board detailed above via email.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the ordering and delivery of kiddush, supplies, and special meals/luncheons (Person will be responsible for either unloading kiddush supplies or coordinating with delivery person to do so on their behalf. Kiddush trays can weigh up to 10 lbs and a cart will be provided)

  • Coordinate weekly shul announcements

  • Maintain the master schedule of shul events and programming

  • Update the website

  • Manage the weekly childcare schedule and coordinate payments

  • Manage correspondence and CRM through Shulcloud or similar

  • Support high holidays logistics

  • Support annual membership campaign

  • Support finance on billing & collections

  • Light cleaning/organizing of Shul space (for example, putting siddurim away in the bookshelves, moving toys back into storage bins)

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks

  • Excellent communication skills, especially written

  • Intimate familiarity with Jewish ritual and synagogue life

  • Familiarity with any of: ShulCloud, HTML, Excel, QuickBooks, Mailchimp, CRM systems a plus

  • Must live within walking distance of the shul, or be available to access the shul easily when onsite support is needed (to be defined on an as needed basis)

 

Role Specifications:

  • Part-time, paid weekly

  • Expected average time commitment of 10 hours/week

  • Most work can be done from home, except for managing deliveries

  • Pay: $25/hour

     

    Interview Process: Please submit a resume and brief note describing interest to president@prospectheightsshul.org. Candidates that meet minimum qualifications will be invited to interview and complete a brief writing/editing exercise to determine suitability (all candidates will be paid at the hourly rate for this exercise).
