Small Business Grants of up to $5000 are available for eligible local businesses. Round Two of funding closes Sunday 31 March.

The first round of funding has committed $15000 to projects including equipment, product development and improved amenities. These five projects were approved because they were initiatives that:

  • helped businesses grow and develop
  • provide a community benefit

Take a trip around the world!

Subiaco’s biggest community event returns with an Around the World theme celebrating four distinct zones from around the globe. Your journey through Subiaco Streets will include pop up bars, food trucks, music, dance, performances, interactive workshops and kids activities.

Set yourself up for success
This introductory course, brought to you by Business Local, is designed for women in business, or new to business, who are keen to develop their business skills and learn practical, applicable and useful tools for staying physically and mentally well while navigating the complexities of business ownership. You will learn more about your own propensity for entrepreneurship; the common pitfalls to avoid; and tools, strategies, tips and models to use to set yourself up for success.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has released updated benchmark data to help small businesses across the country compare their performance with their competitors. Updated benchmark data for more than 100 industries is now available for the following categories:

  • accommodation and food
  • building and construction trade services
  • education, training, recreation and support services
  • health care and personal services
  • manufacturing
  • automotive electrical services
  • machinery and equipment repair and maintenance
  • architectural services
  • veterinary services
  • retail trade
  • transport, postal and warehousing

The City's Economic Development team has partnered with Curtin University to bring their Ignition Scholarship Program to the City of Subiaco. Ignition is an intensive, one-week training program for aspiring entrepreneurs, academics and corporate innovators to trial then prepare business ideas for the commercial environment.
