The City's Business Investment Plan  was approved at the August Council Meeting. The plan allows the City to focus on retaining businesses and attracting new investment through a series of targeted actions.

There is a lot happening in Subiaco
Hundreds of industry leaders were in the audience at the Urban Development Institute of Australia luncheon at Crown Perth in August to showcase all the great things happening in Subiaco. Presentations included updates on the Subi East Redevelopment, One Subiaco and Bob Hawke College plus a presentation from  Mayor Penny Taylor about the City's approach to supporting local business and investment.

The City has planned a Business Christmas Sundowner to be held at The Village Bar at 531 Hay Street on 26 November from 5pm until late. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow business owners in Subiaco and celebrate. This is an informal, casual and free event. Subiaco Hotel has sold!
Award-winning hotel proprietors Dave Allan and Lawson Douglas will take over the ownership of this iconic venue. Long-time owners of the Subiaco Hotel Michael and Judy Monaghan put the landmark building up for sale this year after running the business for 50 years. Investment success for Blue Ocean Monitoring
Woodside Petroleum will invest in Subiaco-based Blue Ocean Monitoring to create autonomous mini-submarines in a bid to make gathering seismic data from the ocean floor cheaper and safer.

Community safety
Business crime prevention is an important part of running a business. As a business owner, there are some things you can do to help prevent crime. To get started, download resources and a security audit toolkit from the Western Australian Police website. Keep the police assistance number handy in case you need to report any suspicious or dangerous behaviour on 131 444.
