Subiaco is the home of football – let's show them what we've got!
Subiaco will be transformed into a sea of blue and gold overnight in anticipation of the Subiaco-based West Coast Eagles home final game this Friday night. The Rokeby Road median strip between Roberts Road and Hay Street will be painted blue and gold, trees will be decorated and there will be large banners at the iconic Hay Street and Rokeby Road intersection.
More than 80,000 people will visit Subiaco this weekend for the two matches – West Coast Eagles v Hawthorn Football Club on Friday 11 September at 6.20pm and Fremantle Dockers v Sydney Swans on Saturday 12 September at 1.20pm.
Show your support for the two WA teams and take advantage of the 80,000 fans coming into Subiaco by:
- decking out your shopfront or business in team colours
- offering football specials
- being active on social media using #AFLFinals and #LoveSubiaco.
We'll be calling into businesses in the town centre this week to deliver finals fever posters and balloons. If you’d like to request these materials, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Football fans will be able to enjoy free face painting at Forrest Walk before both games, and declare their allegiance at the two ‘parklets’ in Hay Street decked out in team colours – the Eagles parklet will be located on Hay Street across from the Subiaco Hotel and the Dockers parklet will be located outside Stimulatte cafe further up Hay Street towards Subiaco Oval.
The street painting in Subiaco and Fremantle is sponsored by Seven West Media and supported by both football clubs.
