The City has planned a free Christmas Social event for Subiaco businesses. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow business owners and celebrate together in an informal and relaxed setting. There will be canapes and one complimentary drink per attendee available on the night. 
Date: Tuesday 26 November from 5pm 
Venue: The Village Bar, 531 Hay Street

SMALL BUSINESS DAY

Make a Small Change
To raise awareness of the big impact small business has on the West Australian economy the Small Business Development Corporation holds an annual WA Small Business Day. This year it's taking place on Saturday 26 October, so when you’re buying goods and services for your business take a look around Subiaco's business community and buy local. Western Suburbs Business Association have a member list that could help you to identify local suppliers of goods and services relevant to your business.

Help raise awareness
The Small Business Development Corporation have developed a suite of marketing materials to help educate local communities on the importance of Small Business. You can find social media tiles here. Remember to hashtag #makeasmallchangewa when posting. If you would like to show your support by displaying a poster in your business window you can collect one from the City's Administration Building at 241 Rokeby Road.

Welcome Dilly Dally
The iconic Witch's Cauldron venue at 87 Rokeby Road is being brought back to life with new owners, a new name and new style. Welcome Ryan and Jeremy, from Lalla Rookh in Perth and now Dilly Dally of Subiaco! Read more here.

Subi Community Mini-Markets
Owner of St Lucy's Cafe, Hamish Cockburn, has brought a European community feel to the corner of Rokeby and Heytesbury roads with his community carts. These carts are available for local businesses to hire and display their goods. If you would like to get involved contact Hamish.

Welcome Little Petra Farm Shop
A true farm to table experience is the little sister of Petra Olive Oil Estate’s Yallingup Farm Shop. Their entire range of award-winning extra virgin olive oil and gourmet produce can be sampled, along with their all natural skin and hair care range. They serve coffee and biscotti too! Welcome to Subiaco Little Petra.

Churchill Fellowship awarded
Director of Career Wisdom Lois Keay-Smith has been awarded a Churchill Fellowship for her project to help adults navigate their career interruption, reinvention and work-life after cancer. Lois will travel to Canada, USA and UK to see the various models of service overseas. Well done Lois!

Meeka's wonderful wines
Congratulations Meeka Restaurant who were placed third nationally at the Gourmet Traveler Australian wine list of the year awards in the best small wine list category. Meeka has received the two glasses seal to reflect their success. Read more here.

The Australian Small Business Advisory Services (ASBAS)  provides opportunities to develop your digital skills through workshops by Business Station. 
Australian Tax Office (ATO) workshops
These workshops provide information and advice on government tax initiatives designed to help your small business. The City of Subiaco is hosting these at Subiaco Community Centres over the coming months. See our events calendar for more details.

Extended trading hours
Shoppers will have an extra 35 hours to grab last minute gifts and stock up for the festive season this Christmas, with extended trading kicking in from Saturday 7 December. Read more here.
