Subiaco Street Party
The City of Subiaco is proud to announce its support of a new annual boutique street festival for 2016. The Subiaco Street Party will take place in the Subiaco Town Centre on Saturday 23 April between 2pm and 9pm.

Event organisers UpBeat Events, together with the city, the Subiaco Town Centre Network and the local business community, are collaborating to a create a community event that highlights the character, vibrancy and unique retail, hospitality and service providers in Subiaco.

This free community event will be a celebration of Subiaco’s rich character and café strip culture and is expected to attract 20,000 people. The party will take over Rokeby Road between Hay Street and Barker Road as well as the surrounding alleys and laneways.

There will be something on offer for all ages and the streets will come alive with with live music, roving entertainment, street food and bars, vintage market stalls, Side Show Alleyway, mini-fashion shows and more.

Event producer Jimmy Murphy from UpBeat Events said he is overwhelmed with the response from the local business community to be involved. 

"This event is driven by the community, for the community, and we encourage anyone wanting to be involved to get in contact.”

AFL is back

The boys are back in town next weekend and with them comes the fans and foot traffic of the 2016 AFL season.

On Sunday 27 March a sea of yellow and blue returns to Subiaco with the West Coast Eagles taking on the Brisbane Lions in the season opener at Domain Stadium. All gates are open from 3.30pm with bounce down at 4.40pm.

Subiaco cafes host bike week breakfast

On Friday 18 March the city celebrated Bike Week in Subiaco with a free breakfast for people who cycled part or all of the way to work, school or university. 2016 was the event's biggest attendance to date with over 410 people registering for the event. 

Subiaco businesses Café Café, Louis Baxters and Croissant Express provided a free breakfast for bike commuters courtesy of the City of Subiaco, WestCycle, the Department of Transport and the RAC.


Laugh a little longer in Subiaco
The Regal Theatre is a major venue in the 2016 Perth Comedy Festival and the city together with the Subiaco Town Centre Network is proud to be supporting the Regal Theatre in the development of the Subiaco Comedy Hub.

These businesses and their specials will be advertised on the Regal Theatre and city's websites, on a Subiaco Comedy Hub flyer and on the See Subiaco and Regal Theatre social media accounts. Footpath decals and corflute signage will also adorn the town centre to highlight the collaboration of See Subiaco, the Regal Theatre and the Perth Comedy Festival. It's not too late to be involved. Easter office closures
 
The city's administration centre will be closed for Good Friday on 25 March and Easter Monday on 28 March.
