Dear Neighbor,

All eight counties in Connecticut have received federal disaster declarations due to ongoing drought that has negatively impacted the state's farming industry.

The declaration allows farmers who suffered qualifying farm-related losses caused by the designated disaster to apply for assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency (FSA).
Approved applicants can use the emergency funds to:
  • Restore essential property
  • Pay for production costs
  • Pay for essential living expenses
  • Reorganize the farming operation
  • Refinance non-real estate operating debts
Learn more about the program and see if your farm qualifies for emergency assistance here.

To contact the Connecticut division of the FSA, call 860-871-4090 or visit www.fsa.usda.gov/state-offices/Connecticut
If you ever have any questions or need help, please don't hesitate to contact my office at (860) 240-8370 or email me at Pat.Boyd@cga.ct.gov. To stay up to date with my work at the Capitol, visit my web page or like my Facebook page.
