Christmas is so much brighter thanks to YOU!!

Littleton Family Services wrapped up the 2021 Tis the Season Program with full and grateful hearts. Thanks to YOU, 68 local families (263 individuals) were connected with local sponsors to provide more than 1,000 gifts this Christmas!! Our incredible donors showered families with presents from their wish lists, grocery gift cards and tremendous joy that families may not have gotten to experience otherwise.

One client, a single mother with three children of her own (and also cares for her niece and nephew,) told us this:

"A blessing, LFS are angels. We are truly thankful because without them I wouldn't be able to give my kids a Christmas."

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each and every one of you that so generously gave to families in need this holiday season! What a beautiful way to wrap up this year.

2022 Food for Friends

In the new year, Littleton Family Services will continue with our grocery delivery program and add a few changes. As before, we will provide our volunteers with the name and address of the client they'll be shopping for as well as a grocery list and a gift card to cover the cost of fresh foods.

Going forward, we will be including a healthy monthly recipe and the ingredients to create it at home! Our goal is to educate families on ways to eat well on a budget. We will share creative ways to cook using grocery and food bank staples like canned or boxed foods while adding in some fresh items. We are so excited for this opportunity!  In addition, we've learned what a beautiful connection grocery delivery has become for our volunteers. Our longtime supporter Louise shared this with us...

"I can tell you I've made lifelong friends with these families. They have made their way into my heart and I care for them so deeply. David is sweet and proud and reminds me of my brother, also named David! Donna is a nice lady, kind with a sassy side to her...we get along great! And then there's Melissa, oh I think she's the best! Always on the go, taking care of her big family, always smiling. I admire her and I am proud to call her a friend."

This friendship and the sense of community are what Littleton Family Services stands for: "To strengthen family stability and well-being through community support and resources." Volunteers will commit to delivering the second Friday of each month for three consecutive months, at any time during that day that works for you. Currently, we have 20 local families that regularly receive groceries and with your help, we can reach even more people experiencing food insecurity in Littleton. Our hope is that like Louise, you will form a relationship with someone you may not have had the opportunity to.
