Hope in an Uncertain Time

Every time I turn on the news or read the latest statistics, my heart sinks. It's easy to start spiraling downwards when I hear about the state of the world. I've found that on days where I stay focused on my community and what's in my control, I tend to be much more at peace. Today I am encouraged and filled with hope by the incredible support our organization continues to receive. Littleton Family Services has been given the green light to move forward with a drive-through food bank on Saturday, May 9th. We have missed our clients dearly! We are currently in need of hygiene items like shampoo & conditioner, razors & shaving cream, laundry soap, etc. to supplement our food bags. Please read on about the new connections we've made within the Littleton community and our new, exciting food partnership! We have so much to be grateful for!

Littleton Family Services is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Food For Thought Denver! They recently approached us to see how they could support families in our community. They will be providing food bags for our upcoming drive-through "Nourish Your Neighbors," event on Saturday May 9th. Food For Thought Denver is a highly respected organization that was created in 2012 to help fill the weekend hunger gap and has done amazing work in our state. Finish Line Timing has organized "The Front Range Food Bank Run," and listed Littleton Family Services as a recipient of their funds! Participating in a virtual race is a great way to motivate each other or for a family to do together while respecting social distancing and working towards personal fitness goals. Run, walk, or bike your chosen distance, at your own pace, whenever and wherever you’d like. It will be a virtual race where people can register and then run or bike their chosen distance. Volunteer Spotlight

Meet Peggy, one of our most dedicated and hardworking volunteers! She has been at each of our, "Nourish Your Neighbors," events and has really made a connection with clients. Recently, she's been out of work so she generously shared her time delivering bags of food, dropping off grocery gift cards and picking up meals from the GraceFull Cafe to deliver to clients. She always contributes whatever she can to LFS- canned goods, toilet paper, laundry soap and so much more. She has such a big heart and we appreciate ALL she does!
