WILDLIFE TALK SERIES

HARBORTON RED-LEGGED FROG

March 22

This population of Northern red-legged frogs was discovered in 2013 when a local Linnton resident left home on a rainy, unseasonably warm evening in January and found Harborton Road covered with frogs - many of which had already been squished. Biologists recommended catching the frogs by hand and shuttling them to and from the wetland.

Our speaker for the event is conservation specialist Jane Hartline, who will talk about the Northern red-legged frog and the volunteer-run Harborton Frog Shuttle. Join us March 22, and learn more about our most ribbiting project!

EVENT UPDATE

ANNUAL DINNER & AUCTION

June 10

Along with craft cocktails and delicious fare by James Beard award-winning Chef Philippe Boulot at this year's Dinner & Auction event, bidding items are also looking to be our best yet! One of our adventure auction items is a Stand Up Paddle Board/Bass Fishing Day Trip for Two with two-time World Champion Spey Caster, Mia Sheppard.

We would like to have fun packages and auction items that fit the interest of women, men, and/or families. If you think you have a trip, item, or package that would be exciting for our event  - we would love to hear from you as we put together the final touches for this event over the next few months. Contact Sherri Phillips or call our office at 503-255-6059.

WILDLIFE TALK SERIES
GREATER SAGE GROUSE
April 18

The Greater sage grouse are especially difficult to count because of their large range, camouflage coloring, and ability to hide in sagebrush. To effectively estimate populations, visible sage grouse leks (areas where sage grouse gather during breeding season) are counted. Join us April 18 to learn how you can help conserve Oregon’s greater sage grouse.
