~ Fed fedme-event og to nye webudstillinger ~

Stadig få billetter til tegn & sans fedme-eventen
Nu på søndag, den 5. maj kl. 13-16, afholder vi en kreativ eftermiddag på Medicinsk Museion, hvor fedt i alle former skal undersøges med blyant og kagegaffel som vigtigste redskaber.

Med den London-baserede kunstner Lucy Lyons som guide, vil vi føle , tegne og spise os vej gennem en verden af fedt. Også deltagende er Bente Vinge Pedersen, der står bag udstillingen ”Fedme – hvad er problemet?”, samt specialist i humant fedtvæv og stofskifte professor Romain Barres fra CBMR på Københavns Universitet.
Billetprisen er 75 kr. og inkluderer kaffe/te og kage. Køb her.

Webudstilling: bag om 'Biohacking - Gør-det-selv!'
Den sidste event i Biohacking-serien på Medicinsk Museion er afviklet, men en webudstilling om hele projektet er nu tilgængelig. I online-udgaven af udstillingen kan du finde tekster, fotografier, DIY-opskrifter, video og pressemateriale m.m. I slutningen af næste år åbner Medicinsk Museions nye udstilling af humane præparater. Du kan følge med i opbygningen af den via vores webudstilling Under huden: Under konstruktion. Se løbende billeder fra de forskellige faser af konstruktionen, og læs forklaringer og tanker bag den nye udstilling.
Fra webudstillingen: " Medicinsk Museion råder over en af de fineste europæiske samlinger af humane præparater (se billedserie herunder). Med udgangspunkt i disse genstande vil udstillingen Under huden væve medicinhistorien sammen med nutidens anvendelser af menneskeligt materiale."

Reservér datoen! Datakroppen på dissektionsbordet
Tirsdag den 4. juni kl. 18.30-21.00:
Siden oldtiden er kroppe blevet dissekeret for at afdække de komplekse systemer af muskler, vener og knogler under huden - og kunstnere har bidraget til at fortolke og formidle opdagelserne. I dag 'dissekerer' lægevidenskaben enorme mængder af data, der er samlet ind om vores kroppe og deres samspil med vores miljø og mikrobielle kammerater. Men hvordan kan vi afbilde disse data? Hvordan ser en "data krop' ud, hvordan føles og lyder den?
I Medicinsk Museions kirurgiske teater kommer disse spørgsmål på bordet ved en rundbordssamtale og åben diskussion med kunstnere, genforskere, filosoffer, og designere.

~ Fat event and two new web exhibitions ~

Explore the substance and science of fat
This Sunday, 5th May at 1pm - 4pm, you are invited to take part in a creative afternoon at Medical Museion. Explore fat in every form with a pencil and pastry fork, and discuss our love/hate relationship with this often misunderstood substance. Buy your ticket for " The Substance of Fat: A Multisensory Event" - numbers are limited for this hands-on event.
With London based fine artist Lucy Lyons as our guide we will feel , draw and eat our w ay through a world of fat. Participants also include is Bente Vinge Pedersen who curated the exhibition " Obesity - what's the problem?", and specialist in human fat tissue and metabolism Associate Professor Romain Barres from CBMR, University of Copenhagen.
Ticket price is 75 DKK including entrance to the museum, coffee/tea and cake! Get tickets here.

Web exhibition: behind the scenes on 'Biohacking - Do It Yourself!'
Medical Museion's Biohacking event series has finished but a new web exhibition about the project is now online! In the online version of the exhibition you can investigate what it all was about, and also find photos, videos, and press coverage. Explore the four sections " Biohacking and Synthetic Biology", " The Lab, Hacks, and Recipes", " Events, Media, and Press Coverage", and " The Project Team".

Under The Skin: Follow the construction of the new exhibition
At the end of next year Medical Museion opens a new exhibition of human remains. You can follow the process developing the new exhibition through our new web exhibition Under The Skin: Under Construction. See pictures of the process, and read about the newest thoughts and ideas for the project.
Medical Museion has one of the finest collection of human speciments in Europe. Based on these speciments the exhibition, entitled Under The Skin, will be in the cross field between history of medicine and the use of human material of today.

Save the date! The Data Body On The Dissection Table
Tuesday, June 4th, from 6.30-9pm:
Since ancient times, bodies have been dissected to reveal the complex systems of muscles, veins, and bones beneath the skin – and artists have helped to interpret and disseminate what is found there. Today medical science ‘dissects’ vast quantities of data that are gathered about our bodies, and their interactions with our environment and microbial companions. But how can we depict these swathes of data? What does a ‘data body’ look like, feel like, and sound like?
Medical Museion’s former surgical theater will explore these questions at a roundtable and open discussion with artists, geneticists, philosophers, and designers.
