Welcome to 2014! Every new year brings an opportunity for us to reflect on how much we appreciate our community and all your wonderful support of our library. Thank you! We are looking forward to a year filled with fun and learning! Please remember that we are CLOSED today, January 1 for the New Year holiday. We will resume regular hours tomorrow.

Rainbow Bracelets
Thursday, January 2, 1:00 p.m.

If you need some last-minute fun and creativity tomorrow, bring your imagination and your friends to Orrville Public Library to make a colorful Rainbow Bracelet. This free program is for kids in grades K-4. The library will provide the necessary supplies, but you are welcome to bring your own loom.

Candy Cane Golf

Friday, January 3, 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.
We have fun for all ages during Christmas break! Children ages 4-6 are invited at 1:00, and ages 7-12 at 3:00, to join us as we turn the Children's Department into a golf course. We will test our skills as we try to putt with oversized Candy Canes! We do need to know that you're coming ahead of time so give us a call at 330-683-1065 to register.

Affordable Care Act Information Meeting
Tuesday, January 14, 6:30 p.m.
Join us as we host Carol Labuza from the Viola Startzman Free Clinic in Wooster. She will joined by an individual trained as an official Navigator for the Affordable Care Act. Together they will answer questions about the ACA, as well as services that are offered at the Clinic. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 330-683-1065.

Planning for College

Financial advisor Robert Coffin with AXA will present tips and strategies to help families prepare for the financial challenges that come with higher education. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 330-683-1065.

Cookbook Club
Thursday, January 30, 6:00 p.m.
Join us for the winter session of the Cookbook Club, featuring recipes from Betty Crocker Cookbook: 1500 Recipes for the Way You Cook Today. You may click here to place a hold, or you're welcome to call or stop by the library to have your reserve placed. The night of the club meeting, bring a sampling of a recipe from the book to share. The library will provide plates and silverware. Please register at the Information Desk or by calling 330-683-1065.

Winter Story Times and a Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.
Registration for winter story times begins January 8. They fill up fast so be sure to call early! We are also spending the week of January 20 celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. in our Children's Department, so stop by any time for special activities and learning about him.

Did You Know?
Tax season is upon us! Orrville Public Library carries a number of tax forms, which we make available to you as soon as we receive them. We are also a VITA site, hosting certified volunteers who help prepare tax returns for qualified individuals in our area, a service of our local United Way chapter.
