Vaccination Requirements at the Pool
New protocols have come in from the pool:
As you may be aware the recent order update from the Provincial Heath Officer requires proof of full vaccination through the BC Vaccine Card and government-issued photo ID (ID only required if 19 years and older) for any adult who supervises/assists with youth programs and activities. This includes volunteer swim coaches, managers, safeties, volunteers, etc. Be sure your user group ensures that the Public Health Order is followed as per your rental contract.
The Provincial Heath Officer recently updated the Events & Gathering Order and proof of full vaccination is now required through the BC Vaccine Card and government-issued photo ID (ID only required if 19 years and older) for all spectators 12 years and older, including the pool, regardless of spectator numbers. If you wish to watch your child’s swim practice please allow extra time to check in with reception to show proof of vaccination. If you are not able to provide proof of vaccination, you can drop off child right before the class starts and return at the end of class to pick up your child.
As a reminder, anyone 5 years and older are required to wear a mask in common and public areas (including hallways, washrooms and change rooms) when not engaged in physical activity.
Thank you for your cooperation as we keep working together to be safe.
What Does This Mean for Us?
The Piranhas will be responsible for checking Vaccination Proof for the following groups:
-Coaches Over 19.
-Volunteers over 19, including parents helping out on deck at events.
-Adult participants in the Piranhas Masters Group.
We are required to have your permission in writing to keep records of your Vaccination Status. Once we have your permission and have checked your proof of vaccination we won't need to check again. Permission forms will be sent out in coming days.
