What's New

This week we’re sharing last minute gift ideas, highlighting spots to celebrate New Years, and wishing you a merry little Christmas.

EAT

We know the major holidays are still under way, but it’s probably time you start asking your friends, “what are you doin’ New Years Eve?” Whether you’re staying in or going out, we’ve got a few coolstuff picks for how to ring in the New Year and keep the party going the next day.

As You Are

The wonderful (underrated) restaurant located within the Ace Hotel Downtown Brooklyn is offering a four-course special NYE menu for $95 per person. We’d go just for the lobster ravioli with persimmon… Check out the full menu and book a spot here

Big Night Caviar NYE Special

There is nothing more CHIC than having caviar and bubbles at home on N! Y! E! Cool friend Katherine Lewin & the team at Big Night have put together a few caviar kits (as well as tins a la carte) to help you be the best host at home. Pre-orders for the fishy goodness end on 12/28 so don’t wait too long, the clock is ticking ;)

MáLà Project NYE & NYD Dry Pot

MáLà Project, the Sichuan dry pot restaurant founded by cool friend Amelie Kang, is open on NYE and NYD, serving their usual spicy and delectable menu. If you want to kick it up a notch to kick off 2023, grab your friends and share some dry pot, dim sum, and cocktails in their Midtown East, Bryant Park, and East Village locations.

New Years Day Drag Brunch at Nat’s on Bleecker

Ring in the new year with FUN! Nat’s on Bleecker in Greenwich Village is kicking off 2023 by hosting a Drag Brunch with Thee Suburbia America on January 1. You can enjoy dishes like Bananas Foster French Toast and Turkish Poached Eggs, complete with a make-your-own bloody mary bar! Reservations can be made as usual on Resy. While you’re here, check out our coolfriend interview a few months back from Nat’s founder, Natalie Freihon.

GIVE

Let’s be honest, there is definitely still someone on your list whose perfect gift continues to elude you. With Christmas a few days away and Hannukah mostly over, you are running out of time! Brush up on ideas with the 2022 coolstuff.nyc gift guide…worst case scenario, call it a New Year’s present.

WATCH

The final thing we leave you with on this Christmas Eve Eve is some entertainment. We'll still have one more newsletter for you before 2022 calls it quits, but for now, here's Judy Garland singing a melancholy Christmas classic.
