What's New

This week we’re sharing our Best Zero Waste Shops in NYC list, highlighting a new dinner party event, and chatting about two cool pop-ups happening this weekend.

Culture Corner

COOL NEW THING(S)

Phobar

Pho lovers rejoice…PHOBAR’s newest Park Slope location is now open!! Right on the corner of Bergen & 6th ave, PHOBAR is serving up their popular dishes including classic Pho, Bahn Mi sammies & as many spring rolls as you can eat.

Fantasy Explosion

There’s no question about it - Fantasy Explosion offers some of the coolest vintage you can buy. (We once picked up an authentic NYC Parks department T shirt.) You can now shop Fantasty Explosion’s NYC-centric vintage at their new brick and mortar shop in Greenpoint. Stop by Wednesday – Sunday at 146A Driggs Ave.

Alf Bakery

At long last…ALF Bakery is open! The new artisanal bakery in Chelsea market is one we’ve been waiting for since chef Amadou Ly’s sold-out brunches at O Studio. You can expect freshly baked breads, viennoiserie, pastries, babka, and DELICIOUS sandwiches. ALF is open Wednesday – Sunday beginning at 9am!

EAT
Produce Party: Peas

This Saturday, April 22nd Produce Parties, a seasonal potluck party that celebrates produce at its peak, is throwing a party for Peas (yes - PEAS!) in Bushwick. Snag a ticket for a night of snacking on creative dishes, meeting new people, tasting fun beverages, and a funky afterparty called Soil Sounds with DJ Bridge. A portion of the proceeds will support Edible Schoolyard NYC.

Pizzza in the Park with Graza

This Saturday The Za Report & Graza are collaborating for a Pizza Party benefit in Prospect Park. Starting at 11am Chef Miriam will be slinging pies with all proceeds benefitting an organization we hold dear at coolstuff.nyc: City Harvest. Click here RSVP for the event and find out the exact coordinates for ZAZA!

The Standard East Village is hosting a v fun Derby watch party on Saturday, May 6 hosted by comedian Michael Stauffer. During the day there will be costume & best hat contests (in true derby fashion), bingo, horse race viewing &&& prizessss. Our Cobble Hill fave, HiHi Room, is celebrating Isolation Proof’s new Spring gin this coming Monday. The talented folks over on Smith Street will be mixing up Springy cocktails all night long, so stop by starting at 6pm to sip on some special drinks.
