A new bakery just popped up on the border of Prospect Heights & Clinton Hill. Situated right on Fulton St, Otway Bakery is serving both neighborhoods delicious baguettes, flakey croissants & moooooore. We can’t wait to stop by for a sourdough baguette sando SOON.

COOK & MINGLE

Wburg coworking and event space, Bat Haus, is hosting a v cool new cooking class in their studio. The “Single-Mingle” grilled pizza cooking class is a single-people-only event where 6 future-luvrs will be randomly paired to make delish pizzas together from scratch. Cute right?

The best part is that this is happening several Tuesdays this May. Click here to sign up (& apply promo code BATHAUS to get your 20% discount on the ticket!)

EAT

Bad Habit Ice Cream & soon-to-open Caleta are taking over Fulgurances, laundromat - a Greenpoint tasting menu restaurant. All happening May 1 (12-4p) & May 2 (5-9p), Caleta and Bad Habit will provide all the goods, savory and sweet, for this two-day event. Dishes like bone marrow toast with oro blanco and plantains with merken aioli will take the stage. Stop by for their family-style menu or just pop in for some takeaway ice cream! Book ur seat here.

READ

We know our readers love to…read…so we thought you should know about a local book club that reads books set in NYC ONLY. We love a theme! Novels of New York is a book club for women in New York (no boys allowed!) and its 800+ members from across the five boros have been meeting monthly for the past 7 years. To get in on this reading action, sign up here (it’s freeeeeeeee.)

LOOK

MoMa’s newest show, The Red Studio, features a collection of Matisse’s work created in his studio space in the Parisian suburb of Issy-les-Moulineaux. Today it is known as a foundational work of modern art and a landmark in the centuries-long tradition of studio painting. This will be the first reunion of these objects since they were together in Matisse’s studio at the time The Red Studio was made (OMG). Don’t miss out. The show will run from May 1 - Sep 10 :)

NETWORK

This Saturday from 1-4pm, Shopify is hosting a Mother’s Day celebration at their Soho office for all mothers, mother figures and caregivers! The afternoon will feature a panel discussion with successful New York-based entrepreneurs, goodie bags full of exclusive mom-owned business products, and (of course) mimosas!

While this event is focused on mothers, mother figures and caregivers, Shopify welcomes all entrepreneurs to attend and learn more about the amazing amenities Shopify NYC has to offer.

Best Spots for Live Music

It’s been a while, but we’re finally starting to dip our toes back into the live-music oasis of New York City. From catching small jazz shows by our favorite, Tamar Korn, to shows at Carnegie Hall featuring our other favorite, Regina Spektor, we want to see it ALL! We figured, maybe you do too? If that’s the case, we’ve put together a list of the best spaces to listen to live music.
