Lecture: Log and Lumber Scanning Technology
Speaker: Patrick Freeman, Group CTO, Microtec, Corvallis
Patrick Freeman is Group Chief Technology Officer of Microtec in Corvallis. He will speak on using artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically grade lumber as well as the use of CT scanning for logs.

South Santiam Watershed Council will host a screening of “UPRIVER”
This hour-long film highlights river conservation efforts throughout the Willamette River basin and was made by local film makers at Freshwaters Illustrated. The event is free and includes a question & answer session with the film makers. Donations will be accepted, and food and drink will be available for purchase. All ages are welcome.

Marion-Polk Chapter of OSWA hosts Amanda Sullivan-Astor of the Associated Oregon Loggers.
Amanda is the policy specialist with AOL and will present to us on the AOL itself and how it works. Look up oregonloggers.org. The logging industry is key to most everything we do, when or if we decide to harvest some timber. Not only are the machines huge and complex, so is our society, and we will have Amanda describe the association as well as her specialty of policy, within that group.
