Starker Forest Tour - Site Preparation, Reforestation, and Fire
Join the Benton County Chapter of Oregon Small Woodlands Assoc. for a Starker Forest Tour on Site Preparation, Reforestation, and Fire: How they can work together to create your next forest.  This is an encore presentation of a popular stop at the Oregon Family Forest Convention in June.
The tour will highlight various forms of site preparation and fuels reduction. We will see the site of a commercial thinning and discuss options to treat slash and the use of prescribed burns to reduce the risk of fire. We will hear about Starker’s lessons learned and experience in the field and how important early planning is to a successful operation.
