The Linn County Annual Seedling Sale and Local Woods Fair
Date: Saturday, February 4th, 2023
Time: 8 am - 12 noon
Location: Santiam Building, Linn County Fair and Expo Center, 3700 Knox Butte Road, Albany, OR
This is an opportunity to buy a selection of bareroot and plug seedlings, including conifers, deciduous trees, shrubs, and several wildflowers to choose from, most are native to Oregon.
The Local Woods Fair, held in conjunction with the seedling sale. There will be organizations and agencies that have resources and knowledge to share on ways to help manage your woodland property, and vendors selling wood-related products. Come by and chat with South Santiam Watershed Council, Oregon Department of Forestry, Oregon Forestry Resources Institute, USDA-NRCS, and OSU Extension, as well as vendors Small Woodlot Tools and Bogwood.

The return of in-person Tree School at the Clackamas Community College, featuring a diverse array of educational topics to address the goals and challenges facing local forest landowners.

“Logging A to Z” with Terry Lamers
Hosted by the Marion-Polk Chapter of OSWA
Terry has all sorts of experience and is happy to let us know many things he finds important that we might not get elsewhere. What to do before you log, during and after logging too. This will have to do with thinning, clear cutting, log markets, brands, log sizes and perhaps even taxation issues. There will be plenty of time for questions. So, if you have considered logging or having some logging done, OR NOT, this presentation and others in this quarter will give you more to base your important decision on

NRCS Linn County Local Workgroup Meeting
This year’s agenda includes Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)/ Soil Water Conservation District (SWCD) partnership history, NRCS and Farm Service Agency (FSA) program updates, Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) presentation about agricultural drainage, and an ODA presentation about emerald ash borer. Also, at the end of the meeting, NRCS will have an open discussion and feedback session for planning conservation projects into the future.
