Breaking gamer stereotypes

When I ask someone what a stereotypical gamer looks like the reply is often a "young, male who plays video games all by himself".

However, this is often far from the truth. 

The Chart of the day from ABC yesterday looked at how online gamers don't fit the stereotype of being young and male.

In fact, it showed that people 55 and older make up nearly a quarter of Australia's 14.5 million gamers - more than any other age category. 😮

Interesting, right?

But this is just for online gamers in Australia. What about gamers in general from around the world?

Well, I looked at 3 different surveys from US, Europe and Australia and found some interesting results.
