Announcing CLIA Cruise360 Marseille

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced today that a new three day conference, the largest of its kind in Europe, will take place in Marseille in October.

Cruise360 Marseille will combine a conference, multi-lingual business sessions and a trade fair for CLIA travel agent members while also showcasing cruise ships rarely seen in British ports. The event will bring together travel agents, cruise line executives, destinations and CLIA Executive Partners.

Cruise360 Marseille will take place between 20 and 22 October with optional ship visit days on 19 and 23 October. CLIA travel agent members will have the opportunity to visit up to four ships from a choice of eight – Holland America Line’s Oosterdam (19 October); Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Vista (20 October) or Croisiere de France's Horizon; MSC Cruises's MSC Poesia or Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Epic (22 October) and Costa Cruises' Costa Diadema, Thomson Cruises' Thomson Majesty or Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Reflection (23 October).

Travel agents will also be hosted on excursions around Marseille and will enjoy a gala dinner in the spectacular Palais de la Bourse.

“For the first time we are able to bring together our European travel agent members in one location where we can showcase a variety of ships while providing business sessions and networking opportunities.” said Andy Harmer, CLIA Europe VP Operations.

He continued: “Our British and Irish travel agent members will be able to visit ships which rarely call in to UK ports but which will have great appeal to potential customers. It’s also a great opportunity to share best practices and to visit Marseille, a port which attracts more than 1.7 million passenger visits a year.”

Registration for Cruise360 Marseille opens today and the price per agent is £75 + VAT - Register online at cruiseexperts.org via the Events page

CLIA UK & Ireland Announces the Winners of the Cruise Journalism Awards 2016

Record breaking award entries mirror cruise’s record breaking year

The winners of this year’s Cruise Journalism Awards have finally been revealed. Now in its fifth year the awards ceremony took place on 22 March 2016.
Hosted by UBM the ceremony was held in the heart of London (itself once the largest port in the world). BBC business correspondent, Ben Thompson led the awards, helping to recognise the outstanding contribution that journalism has made to the cruise industry in the past twelve months.

The media remains integral to our mission to promote the sheer diversity of cruise holidays and in particular raising its profile to attract first-time cruisers.
