Update from my third bill to be introduced this session: I introduced HB21-1238, named “Modernize Gas Utility Demand-side Management Programs” to the Energy & Environment committee on last Thursday. There were over 30 experts who testified in support of this bill, which really exemplifies the need for this bill to be passed. Check out my video update below for more information about what this bill does for Coloradans!
This week is also budget week for the Colorado General Assembly which means all legislators and senators for the state of Colorado will be voting on how to allocate the state’s budget for the year. More information on that next week when decisions have been finalized.
Join me, Congressman Joe Neguse, and Senator Sonya Jaquez Lewis for a special East Boulder County town hall Wednesday April 28th at 6pm. We will be discussing our bills, sharing our thoughts on new legislation, answering questions from our constituents. It is not often that we get a federal perspective during our town halls so take advantage of this special opportunity and don't forget to register for this informative event!
The Longmont Museum will be hosting a virtual event called “Air: As We Live and Breathe (The Big Picture Climate Change Series)” on Monday April 19th at 7:30pm. A panel of climate specialists will be in attendance to discuss how humans have drastically altered the living conditions on our planet, largely through burning fossil fuels. This will be a great event where anyone can learn more about the history of climate change and how we can be more sustainable going forward.
