Soñamos Sentirnos Libres : Under Construction
May 1- September 5, 2016 Mayo 1 - Septiembre 5, 2016
A hundred plus people had a blast on Sunday at Interference Archive for the opening of Soñamos Sentirnos Libres : Under Construction, an exhibition and event series which features the work of Mobile Print Power, a multigenerational collective based out of Immigrant Movement International Corona, in Queens.
Lots of the MPP youth came out and informally introduced and gave mini-tours of the exhibition and their work to visitors. Part of the crew also screen printed posters and t-shirts at the event, and we celebrated it all with a cake decorated with their graphics!
Interference and MPP have a packed schedule of events that accompany the exhibition. The first is a conversation and a workshop with MPP, IA, and Talk is Cheap, presenting on collaborative practices and how they connect to our struggles for collective justice. That's on May 14th, and you can read more on our website. All these events are youth friendly!

Audio Interference 13: Mobile Print Power
“Before we ask questions, we find out more about the problems that are happening. And sometimes we even go out and ask the people around us: what is something that you don’t feel comfortable with? Where do you feel disconnected? . . . I think that’s the way that we actually find political issues to do art with.†–Stephanie Roman
Those that couldn't come to the opening on Sunday (and those that want more!) can listen to Mobile Print Power talk about their work on Audio Interference's 13th podcast. In this episode, Charlie Morgan and Lani Hanna talk to collective members Marissa Campiz, Brandon Castillo, Jennifer Muñoz, Stephanie Roman, and Patrick Rowe, getting great insight into their process and unique practice which mixes political graphic production and community engagement.

Your financial support matters so much!
Did you know that most of our operating costs are covered by donations from people or visiting groups who believe in Interference Archive? Watch our blog and this email newsletter over the coming month as we share stories about the things we work on behind the scenes, and the ways your support helps us do the work we do. In May of each year, we reach out to our friends, asking them to become part of the community that supports our work financially. If you’d like to support us now, with either a one-time donation or a recurring donation, visit our website. You can also write a check to Interference Archive. Thank you so much for your support!

Interference Archive has a desk for rent!
In order to help afford our space, we rent out a small number of desks to like-minded individuals and organizations, and we currently have one available. Your desk would be located in a shared work space, and costs $360/month, including all utilities. You would have 24 hour access, and get to work close to a really nice crew of people. If you're interested, contact info@interferencearchive.org.

Interested in helping Interference catalog our unique collection?
IA is now hosting bi-weekly cataloging parties! A bunch of us get together with laptops every other Thursday evening and work on entering some of our amazing posters, pamphlets, buttons, and record albums into our catalog so that they can be searchable online. The next cataloging party is tomorrow night, Thursday May 5th, 6–9pm.
