Finally Got the News: The Printed Legacy of the U.S. Radical Left, 1970-1979

Exhibition Opening: January 26, 7-10pm

Location: Interference Archive, 131 8th St #4
Date and Time: Thursday, January 26th, 7-10pm
Exhibition Dates: January 26th through May 14, 2017

Finally Got the News (a collaboration between Brad Duncan and Interference) uncovers the hidden legacy of the radical left of the 1970s, a decade when vibrant social movements challenged racism, imperialism, patriarchy and capitalism itself. It uses original printed materials—from pamphlets to posters, flyers to record albums—to tell this politically rich and little-known story. This exhibition also includes a publication, now available for pre-order, to be released in March.

Reading Finally Got the News: a reading and discussion group

This reading group, designed to accompany Interference Archives’ Finally Got The News exhibition, will explore some of the key liberation movements of the 1970s U.S. through the lens of written documents included in the exhibition, as well as excerpts from publications by the activists and intellectuals who led, chronicled and theorized about them.

Our reading will be divided into three four-week sessions on Saturdays from February 4 through April 3, from 3-5pm. For more information or to sign up, please visit our website.
