Manifestoon, Jesse Drew (8:20, 1995)
Capitalism is an Ism, tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE (6:41, 2006)
wüstenspringmaus, Jim Finn (3:00, 2002)
An fun night of repurposed pop culture, these four short films take the detritus of a lifetime of TV and film and rebuild strange and fabulous critiques of the status quo. Alice in Wonderland or Who is Guy Debord? was originally created as a media activist project, and spliced onto the end of existing Disney VHS tapes being rented at Blockbuster.Manifestoon is a hilarious visualization of the Communist Manifesto brought to life entirely through 1950s and 60s cartoons. Capitalism is an Ism slogs through capitalist propaganda films and popular culture alike to create a strange and caustic brew. wüstenspringmaus brings us the history of capitalism and colonialism through the joint eyes of Hollywood and a gerbil.

Open House
Friday September 21st, 5:30-7:30pm
We would like to invite you to a series of open houses to personally introduce you to the archive and our future plans. Currently the archive is staffed by Josh, Molly Fair, and Kevin Caplicki, among others. Come meet them and learn all the ways the collection can be used and explored! Through our programming, the histories of people mobilizing for social transformation have become animated and part of the present. While still in its infancy, the archive has big plans to continue this work and expand its reach. This includes becoming a non-profit organization, opening to the public with much expanded hours, and the development of a online database of the collection which will allow for effective research and sharing of materials.
A presentation will be given at 6:30pm

Freedom Through Football: The story of the Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls
Will Simpson & Malcolm McMahon
The anarchist football team[Easton Cowboys] formed out of a kick-about between a group of punks and kids from St Pauls and in 2012 celebrated its 20th year. Freedom Through Football tells the tale of a journey that has seen them smuggled into Zapatista communities under cover of darkness, play cricket in Compton, South Central LA, and soccer on the dusty pitches of Palestine. Along the way they’ve sheltered asylum seekers from Mozambique, spent an afternoon as uninvited guests at Windsor Castle and been joined by rampageous netballers, can can dancers and an up and coming street artist named Banksy. At times it’s been nothing if not a bumpy ride - as a team and as individuals they’ve had to confront imprisonment, death, drug and alcohol problems and meet them all head on.
This is the world the Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls have created for themselves. Freedom Through Football is the guide to this punk and anarchist-inspired, community-minded club that truly is like no other in British sport.
Presented by one of the founding members, Roger Wilson
