7-9pm
Activist, composer, and musician Fred Ho will lead a listening session and discussion of his early musical development in the context of the Asian American Movement. Ho, like other Movement leaders, infused his cultural work with revolutionary messages. The audience will listen to selected tracks from Ho’s early albums from the 1980s, such as Bamboo that Snaps Back and Tomorrow is Now. Selections from other Movement-era albums like A Grain of Sand and Hiroshima will be played for comparison and context.
