CALL FOR ARTICLES SPRING 2017 EDITION OF NOTICIAS
You are cordially invited to contribute an article for the Spring 2017 Edition of Noticias.
The theme for the 2017 CCC is "Gateway To Your Global Network," and the Spring Edition of Noticias will highlight the international practice and aspects of the practice of law. Cross-border law practice is growing to serve the increasingly global business of its client. Expansion takes several forms, including the physical – law firms opening offices in other countries to serve new and existing clients as well as the virtual expansion that supports the economics of cross boarder activity by enabling the practice of law apart from a physical presence. Issues we face include barriers to practicing abroad, ethical considerations, and many others. We hope that the articles submitted for consideration will help our members identify and strengthen global network.

HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference & Moot Court Competition in Las Vegas, NV
What stays in Vegas...well, actually it was too good of a conference not to recap. Located at Caesar's Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, the theme "Embracing Technology," showed through in the special Technology Reception that was held one evening and in the various plenaries and CLEs. There was also a plenary on the Puerto Rican debt crisis, and The University of Oakland College of Law emerged as the victor in the Moot Court Competition.
Advocacy Day in Washington, DC
For two days in May the HNBA took to the Hill and the White House and focused on these four priorities during meetings with Congressional leaders, staff members, and White House officials:

2. Voting Rights Advancement Act;
3. Criminal Justice Reform; and
4. Puerto Rico Debt Crisis.
IPLI in Washington, DC
During a one week intensive in June, the HNBA, in partnership with Microsoft, held its annual Intellectual Property Law Institute.
