Latina Equal Pay Day
November 2, 2017
Latina Equal Pay Day will be observed this year on November 2, 2017- the day that Latina workers finally catch up to what white, non-Hispanic male workers were paid in 2016.
We will observe this day by holding a national twitter storm in collaboration with the campaign partners at 2pm EDT. In addtion, LCLAA will host a Solutions Summit in Washington, DC, at the AFL-CIO, 815 16th Street.
Please RSVP for this free event, if you have not already.
There are many ways to partner on this campaign: create content for the shared social media toolkit, publish a blog post or oped, share information with your members about this campaign and encourage them to get involved, provide Latina workers with critical information about their rights, or plan an event in your area.
The failure to pay Latina workers equitably impacts their lives and their families immensely. We hope that you will sign on as official campaign partner today to shine a light on how the gender pay gap affects Latina workers on a wide-range of issues, including health, education, retirement, housing, and so many other areas.
A "Must See" Documentary
Arguably most Latinos have heard of Dolores Huerta, considered "the Matriarch" of our civil rights movement. But many do not know the true story of this small but fearless champion; this happy warrior; the most respected woman of our time; and "one of the most defiant feminists of the 20th century." For over 50 years Dolores Huerta has been at the forefront of every major battle for social and economic justice, and civil and human rights.
