WCC DECLARED AN IMPACT 100 GRANT FINALIST

Women’s Crisis Center seeks to expand Green Dot, a violence prevention program, into 3 additional high schools in Northern Kentucky. Women’s Crisis Center will present our project to the Impact 100 membership on September 13, 2016 at the Annual Awards Celebration.

Green Dot shows a 40% reduction in sexual violence and a 50% reduction in other forms of violence in high schools where implemented. It successfully reduces rates of violence through increasing bystander behaviors and changing cultural norms. Currently, Women’s Crisis Center is partnering with 6 Northern Kentucky High Schools and 1 Cincinnati Public School to offer Green Dot at no cost to the schools.

Impact 100 empowers women to dramatically improve lives by collectively funding significant grants which make a lasting impact in our community. This year, 4 grants of $101,500 will be awarded. Since its inception in 2001, Impact 100 has donated over $2.8 million to transform life in the Greater Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky region.

For over 40 years, Women’s Crisis Center has served families in 13 counties in Northern Kentucky who are experiencing sexual assault or domestic violence. Women’s Crisis Center offers counseling, court advocacy, hospital advocacy, emergency shelter, anonymous hotline, groups, and prevention services. Women’s Crisis Center is committed to leading our community in the social change needed to end domestic violence, rape, and sexual abuse. Services are provided at no cost to our clients.

JUNE EVENT HIGHLIGHT

CONNECTING SHORE TO SHORE
This annual event is one of the largest networking events for professional women in our area. Women from all stages in their  professional careers and from three states, were brought together for this major conference.

The Regional Women's Summit hosted by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Women's Initiative held its conference on June 29th with more than 300 women in attendance in Covington, Kentucky.  Betsy Myers and a score of renown breakout session leaders spoke.

Those attending the conference could bring donations with them to benefit the Women's Crisis Center.  WCC had a table set up following the conference and we were able to meet a number of women and talk to them about WCC as well as receive donations.  It was a great event for WCC!

JUNE EVENTS

Minority Mental Health Month
July 1- 31st

Each year millions of
Americans face the reality of living with a
mental health condition. Taking
on the challenges of mental health
conditions, health coverage and the stigma of mental illness requires
all of us.

In many communities, these problems
are increased by less access to care,
cultural stigma and lower quality care.

Help spread awareness for the
stigmafree pledge today by visiting
