The next Connector JPA board meeting will be held this Friday, Feb. 13, at 8:30 a.m. at the Rancho Cordova City Council Chambers. New business items include recommendations developed in follow-up to the board’s Jan. 9 Plan of Finance workshop, a report on results from the JPA’s communications and outreach program, and an update on the South Sacramento Habitat Conservation Plan. Additional items include a 2014-15 budget status report, updates to the Project Design Guidelines, authorization of a contract with Dokken Engineering for preliminary engineering and environmental planning work on the D3 and E1 segments (White Rock Road from Prairie City Road to Latrobe Road), and an update on the Sacramento Area Council of Governments update of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy.
After its January board meeting, the JPA Board participated in a workshop on the Connector Plan of Finance. Issues discussed by the JPA Board Members centered around the additional funding required to get Connector segments into construction, including from the JPA jurisdictions. More information about what will be required financially to get the entire 34-mile alignment into “shovel-ready†status and to get some segments constructed over the next eight years will be discussed in further detail in future JPA meetings.
