June 3, 2021                                             Volume 2; Issue 5
Dear Denmark Technical College Family,

I am absolutely elated to announce that for the Fall of 2021 Denmark Technical College will be offering free tuition to the first 500 students to register. This is for new, returning, and current students. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has been thinking about going to college or returning to college to dive in. We have dozens of programs that place our students on the path to lucrative futures in surging career fields. Please share the news of our Denmark Technical College Tuition Relief Scholarship with your family, friends, and networks and encourage anyone who may be interested to seize this opportunity. Full details are available here

In addition to our tuition relief program, we have had a tremendously busy spring at DTC. We have set our schedule for the next several cycles of our scholarship based ManuFirstSC program, in partnership with the Southern Carolina Alliance, and started a new EMT training program with MedShore Ambulance, which not only covers the cost of tuition, but also pays students as they train for a career in the fast-paced medical field. We have also been excitedly preparing for Upward Bound Camp Innovation and the Summer Bridge programs which bring educational opportunities to youth in surrounding school districts.

In May, we welcomed Coach Rohan Naraine and Coach Onyemachi Provost as we introduced our brand-new men's and women's soccer programs to our fall 2021 sports lineup. We are currently recruiting players and welcome anyone interested in playing college soccer to come out for out soccer tryouts from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on June 13 and 27.

Our commencement and investiture weekend was a huge success, sending bright new graduates off into the world to do amazing things and ushering in a new era of leadership and success at Denmark Tech. World renowned actress and philanthropist JoMarie Payton gave a beautiful motivational speech to our graduates and Grammy and Dove winning performer Rudy Currence brought down the house with his Sunday service performance.  While these celebrity guests were certainly highlights, I am most proud of our fundraising efforts which brought in over $65,000 to support our students. Funds like these are precisely the reason we are able to offer free tuition this fall to 500 students. To those who give and continue to support the college, we are grateful beyond words.

Sincerely,

Willie L. Todd, Jr., Ph.D.
