November News

Chain of Custody by Anita Nair comes out to a deluge of positive reviews. Good to see it listed in The Bookbag's Top Ten Crime Novels of the Year list. In great company too - with the likes of Lee Child and Mark Billingham!

Gwen Moffat, celebrated crime writer and mountain climber said in Shots: "With all the fine investigators that she has to follow Anita Nair has come up with an original."

Ian Rankin: "Just finished this. Fine follow-up to @anitanairauthor's first Inspector Gowda book. Harrowing but compassionate tale of modern India.

Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions by Mario Giordani:

Times Crime Book of the Month: "A delightful detective and a lively, humorous portrait of Sicilian society and gastronomy."

Kirkus starred review
: "Giordano's wit and his formidable heroine's wisdom combine to make this debut a smash."

Sadly there is also some bad news: Leon Russell died yesterday. A giant of the 1970s blues, country and rock scene, with his trademark top hat, hair well past his shoulders, a long, lush beard, an Oklahoma drawl and his fingers splashing two-fisted barrelhouse piano chords.  A Song for You was covered by many including Ray Charles and Willie Nelson.
