What is New?
Since our last newsletter a lot has happened.
~We have had the privilege to visit and share at two churches. Our time in Lenoir City, TN and Covington, TN was amazing. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality and support through prayer and giving.
~Claudia shared with the ladies mission group at Oak Street Baptist and played her flute at Brick Christian Church last Sunday.
~We have seen our pledged monthly support increase by 6%, but we still have a ways to go.
~We only have $3000 left to raise for our outgoing.
~We put our house on the market and 29 days later we had an acceptable offer. We will be moving on the 21st. This will allow us to go to Africa debt free!!! Which is a great feeling. God has provided an apartment in Elizabethton for us to live in for a very low rate until we leave.
~We are gearing up for a busy two weeks: We have a Taste of Africa Party Saturday in Irmo, SC and then Jeremy flies out to Colorado for a week of training. It is through Equip Int. called Abundaculture
. His training will cover composting toilets, solar and wind power system, water filtration and various building materials.
~ We just received word last night from our team leader that our team housing construction is going great. He said "Working with the local people has been rewarding in many ways, especially in the aspect of building relationships." Praise God!!! Below is a picture of the frame of the house.
Upcoming Road Trip to Statesboro, GA
We are coming to Statesboro Nov 8-11. If you are going to be in town, we would love to come, sit and share about our upcoming journey to Africa and catch up on what is going on in your life.
We would love to share at your local church, Sunday school class or small group. Just contact us to schedule a time.
We need your help?
Since you follow us through our newsletters and blog, you know our story and our call to the SAN. However, a lot of people don't and we need to spread the word. The delay in our departure has given us the time to share with more people. Would you help us and be an advocate on our behalf. We can speak to civic groups, churches, small groups (host a Taste of Africa Party), Sunday School classes, WMU groups etc.
If you know of someone who we need to get in touch with, let us know and we will get a cover letter and letter of recommendation emailed to you. Thanks!
A steady pace is good...
Jeremy is running a marathon on November 8th and as a long distance runner, you train to run a race at a steady pace you can maintain for the duration of the race. This could describe our support raising. We have been maintaining a steady pace toward Africa. Many of you have been with us on this journey for awhile and others have just joined. You are all important. We are the Body of Christ here to support each other. We can feel your prayer support each day. Thank you! Our outgoing fund support is picking up speed each month and the finish line is in sight. Thank you! Our monthly support pledges have grown over the past month. Thank You!
To keep the pace going, we need to grow our monthly pledges about 9% or $388 a month now. Remember a pledge can start giving now or wait until we leave. Each pledge does add up to our total needs. We need to have 100% of our monthly pledged by April 30, 2015.
A pledge of $11 per month is .25%
$22 per month is .5%
$43 per month is 1%
Please pray about being a part of reaching the San Bushman.
