The world is wrong side up. It needs to be turned upside down in order to be right side up.
Whether you agree with Billy's worldview or not, the "world" of the Hazels is about to be turned upside down. As of this Tuesday May 5th, both Claudia and I will no longer be employed by Lowe's or Big John's. We will have moved out of our apartment and all our pets will be settled into their new homes. It will be just Claudia and I, our trunks and a few other items. We will be heading out West to see family and then back to Tennessee for a few weeks to stay at Pathfinders Youth Camp before we head to Africa. We embrace this change as it signals a new beginning for us. A monumental shift in our focus on life. We embrace our new role as full time missionaries called to bring Hope to the unreached. Before we take this last step, we do however have one more item on our checklist and that is our financial clearance. If you have been praying about this or you are one of those last minute people, then here is your chance to act. Our deadline is only 10 days away so literally time is running short. In order to be cleared to go to Africa we need 100% of our goal pledged. Not given, just pledged. We are only $850 short of our goal. Our pledges have ranged from $10 to $150 a month. You can also pledge a yearly amount which will be divided by 12 and counted toward our goal. "Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you." Deuteronomy 16:17
Do you facebook? As we are in the final days of building our support team could you advocate for us to your facebook friends. All we ask is that you simply say a little about our calling and mission then provide a link to our blog and post it. Here is recent example from a friend: "To my fellow Christians, please take time to read the blog at hazelsinafrica.aimsites.org.
Jeremy & Claudia are dear friends of ours, who are answering God's call to mission work in Namibia, Africa. They will be living and working among the San Bushmen to share the Gospel of Christ. Please pray for them in this journey of faith; and if you or your church are able to help provide financial support for this mission team the details for how to do that are on their website. Thanks!"

It's still not to late really it isn't!
Thank you to all who have sent stickers but we still have lots of room for more. We have 6 big travel trunks that we are taking with us to Africa. We are collecting stickers to put on them to remind us of the love and support from home. So send us a sticker that best represents you and your family. For example, Jeremy is putting his Marathon and Georgia Southern University stickers on his trunks. Others have given us stickers from their church, school or favorite sport team.
You can send your stickers to our mailing address at
PO Box 804 Elizabethton, TN 37644.

But do this with gentleness and respect."
