Next step?
David Livingston, the famous 1800's missionary to the heart of Africa, said "I don't care where we go as long as we go forward." Since news of our team being disbanded, it has seemed as though we have been treading water in the deep end of the pool. This time has been spent looking at what our next steps forward would be. We wanted to update you on what the next two months will look like for us now that we have some clarity. I have created a picture graphic below for those who like pictures and want to stop reading. For those readers, the following is for your reading pleasure. I did want to give this one disclaimer. We still haven't heard any official news about our Visa appeal yet. We are proceeding in faith that in the next month our appeal will be granted and we will be able to return to Namibia. Our current visa runs out at the end of next week.

On Monday November 7th, we will leave Namibia and travel to our Regional Office in Johannesburg, South Africa. We have some administrative things to take care of and one more debrief to do. We will also be meeting with a counselor. This will be a time of preliminary assessment and determine how much counseling, if any, we will need before we return to Tsumkwe. Our leadership wants to make sure we are in a healthy state of mind before we return.

On Saturday November 12th, we head to Gloucester, England for a week long training in Oral Bible Storying. We are so excited that we will be able to attend because the San Bushman are an oral society. They don't have the scriptures translated and probably won't for a long time. So the most effective way to share the Bible is through stories. This class is in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL International.

On Sunday November 20th (Claudia's Birthday), we will be coming back to the United States for the Holidays. Unfortunately, our time will be very limited as we will be heading back to Africa the 3rd of January. We will spend time with family in Atlanta and Statesboro, Georgia during the holidays. We will be visiting our sending church in Tennessee around the first of December. We will try to provide a general meet and greet opportunity for you to come visit us in the Tri-Cities area. The reason for the short stay is simple, if our Visas are granted we will only have a short 2 years in Tsumkwe from the moment they are granted. So the longer we stay in the U.S. the shorter our time in Tsumkwe this term. If you don't live in the 3 cities we will be visiting, then we would love to video chat over Skype any time while we are in the U.S. So feel free to contact us with a date and time and we will get back with you.

Early January, we will fly back through Johannesburg and Windhoek to do a few final administrative items. Then we will make our way back to Tsumkwe.
In Christ Alone,
Jeremy and Claudia
