Today was our deadline. It has been another day of silence. As we lean against a closed door to Namibia, we are encouraged by many to you. You all have supported us in your prayers, sharing of scripture, words of encouragement, opening your homes, fellowship over meals, hugs..... Thank you for your love.
We are mourning the loss of going back to Namibia. It feels like we have been sitting by the hospital bed of a dear friend on life support. Today the decision was made to take him off life support. He did not breath on his own and the machines all go flat. SILENCE. This is just an analogy of how we feel.
Thankfully, God knew this day was coming. He has already been preparing for our next step when the time was right. God has already been wiping our tears of mourning today. In our devotional this morning, the prayer at the end was "Dear Lord, help me to remain steady and sure in the security of Your Word and its guidance." God promises to each of us in Deuteronomy 31:8 "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
So we can look forward. We are still called to the lost, the poor, and the hungry. There are still 6,741 people groups in the world considered unreached today. There is still much work to be done. Africa Inland Mission passion is Christ-centered churches among all African people and the priority is the unreached.
Like Paul who was able to stay a few months in some places and years in other places, we are seeking reassignment among another unreached people group. We have a conversation with AIM leadership on Monday to take the next step in the process of reassignment. Please continue to hold us in your prayers. We are not sure where God is leading yet but we can "Trust in the LORD with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways submit to him, and he will make our paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
We will continue to update you all when there is news to share.
In Christ Alone,
Jeremy and Claudia Hazel
